Wedding: Thompson
Ginny Rebecca Gremillion of Ferriday and Dustin Dwight Thompson of Oklahoma City, Okla., were married Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at 7 p.m., at St. Mary Basilica with the Rev. David O’Connor, the Rev. Anthony Dhamaraj and the Rev. Louis Sklar officiating.
Parents of the couple are Dr. and Mrs. Maurice Jean Gremillion of Ferriday and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Lee Thompson of Oklahoma City, Okla.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Dr. Patrick Doherty, organist; Kathleen Mackey King, vocalist/cantor; Merisha Townsend Gore, harpist; and Robin Townsend Rutherford, flautist.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. She wore an ivory duchess satin gown by Mori Lee. The strapless, sweetheart bodice was adorned with sparkling silver thread embroidery. Hand beaded crystals formed cross over bands accenting the empire waist. Satin covered buttons cascaded down the back of the A-line skirt. A silver thread embroidered motif highlighted the hemline and chapel-length train. Her two-tier illusion veil was delicately edged in ivory thread.
Elizabeth Summerskill Milliken of Ferriday was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Christine Whimberg Peer, Michelle Lawrence Garvan and Elizabeth Maxwell Williams, all of Monroe, La., and Charlotte Denton Gage of Tampa Bay, Fla. Junior bridesmaid was Madison Carlile Williams of Monroe. They wore slate luminescent taffeta dresses by Watters and Watters. The strapless, floor-length gowns featured a fitted, ruched bodice with a draped V-back. Elizabeth Ann Garvan of Monroe was flower girl.
Joseph Ray Thompson of Seattle, Wash., was best man. Groomsmen were Jean Maurice Gremillion of Ingleside, Texas, Paul Leslie Deeter of Sherwood, Ark., Paul Wesson Williams of Monroe and Casey Michael Johnston of Phoenix, Ariz. Junior groomsman was Parker Ethridge Williams of Monroe.Sabastian Philip Criswell of Monroe was ring bearer.
Program attendants were Amanda Ramsey Ashabranner, Corre Allen Criswell and Jennifer Bethany Book. Readers for the nupital mass were Shannon James Gremillion, Tommie Reneé Parker and Mary-Margaret Alwood. Eucharistic ministers were the celebrants and Martha Junkin Seibert. Gift bearers were Mr. and Mrs. Bradley Jason Gremillion and family.
A reception was at The Briars. The couple will live in Maumelle, Ark.
Wedding: Harris
Alexas Neal and Allen Harris, both of Vidalia, were married Monday, July 27, 2009, in Natchez, with Judge Charlie Vess officiating.
Parents of the couple are Tammy Jordan of Natchez, Mike Ragsdale of Oxford, Linda Harris and Ronnie Wells of Natchez and Crawford Harris of Vidalia.
The bride was given in marriage by her grandfather, Buddy Cochran.
Celeste Atkins of Natchez was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Brandy Partridge of Brandon and Sieara Neal of Natchez.
Emily Dean and Jadyn Harper, both of Vidalia, were flower girls.
Tyler Harris of Natchez was best man.
Nathan Harris and Shane Harris, both of Natchez, were ring bearers.
A reception was at 36 Farr Road, in Natchez, following the ceremony. Assisting at the reception were Peggie Cochran, Brandy Partridge, Lindsey Crum and Celeste Atkins.
The couple will live in Vidalia.
Engagement: McMurren and Nettles
Mr. and Mrs. James E. Fiorello of Natchez announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Lee McMurren to Morgan William Nettles, son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Nettles, also of Natchez.
The bride-to-be is a graduate of Natchez High School and attended Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Natchez.
She is employed by Silas Simmons, LLP in Natchez.
She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Billy Willard of Natchez and the late Mr. and Mrs. S.J. Volturo of Okmulgee, Okla.
The groom-to-be is also a graduate of Natchez High School and a graduate of Nashville Auto Diesel College in Nashville, Tenn.
He is employed by Stokes Distributing Co. in Natchez.
He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Nettles of Woodville, Mr. and Mrs. Richmond Davis of Baton Rouge and the late Mr. Cecil Shustz of Corbin, La.
The wedding will be at 5 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at Parkway Baptist Church in Natchez.
A reception will follow at the Natchez Community Center.

Engagement: Patterson and Prescott
Laurie and Marc Patterson of Ocean Springs announce the engagement of their daughter, Amy Patterson to Colton Prescott, son of Cathy and George Prescott of Natchez.
The bride-to-be is a graduate of Alcorn State University in Natchez.
She is employed by Natchez Community Hospital as a registered nurse.
She is the granddaughter of J.W. “Papa” Scott and the late Peggy Scott “Meme” of Roxie and Lynda Patterson and the late Hershal Patterson and Katie Patterson of Jackson.
The groom-to-be is a graduate of Adams County Christian School and a graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Natchez.
He is employed by Durango Operating in Natchez.
He is the grandson of George and Mary Joe Prescott of Natchez, Mack Smith of Louisiana and Ann Flewelling of Natchez.
The wedding will be at 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at Rosalie in Natchez. A reception will follow.
