Ferriday man reported missing

FERRIDAY — The family of a local man who has been missing for nearly two weeks is looking for any information about his whereabouts.
Casey D. Herring, 30, who is described as being 5-foot-11-inches tall and 140 pounds with very short brown hair, has been missing since Oct. 25.
That day, he checked himself into a room in the Natchez Best Western, his mother Brenda Olsen said.
At some point, he called for an ambulance, but when the ambulance arrived Casey apparently panicked and ran away.
“I don’t know how he was running, but they said he was running,” Olsen said.
Casey had been experiencing severe pain on his ankle, and had an appointment with a surgeon the next Monday to discuss ankle replacement surgery.
His strange behavior is also part of the mystery, because Casey hasn’t had any prior signs of mental illness.
The only guess that Olsen has is that the medicine he was taking for his ankle pain triggered a psychotic episode — and she admits that’s only a guess.
Casey had told his mother that the medication was making him sick to his stomach, making him see double and making his memory foggy, but that he didn’t stop taking it because of the pain.
“He said the medication wasn’t agreeing with him,” she said.
“There was nothing wrong with Casey’s brain — I don’t know if the medication has messed up his brain.”
Casey has been seen once since his initial disappearance, when a woman reported to police she saw him at the Natchez Visitor’s Center, wearing blue pants, a navy blue short-sleeved shirt and no shoes, apparently confused.
That sighting was Oct. 29.
The family has been putting up fliers soliciting information about him around the area, and anyone with information about his whereabouts should call 318-757-9107 or 601-807-1834.

Was local to the area but staying at the Best Western???
No idea what medication he was taking.....who was his doctor and what was he prescribing him? Was he working, was he dating someone, did he have a cell phone and who did he frequently call if he did???
---> I saw the pic in the dwntown post office and if this picture was taken before the above episode or medication problem, I'd say someone needs to come forward with the COMPLETE truth about what was going on in this boys life. He looked like he hadn't had any sleep in a week.
And to see him last near the river is not a good sign.

I am a family member and I also had questions but to some of your opinionated readers, here we go! Casey possibly was not allowed to live@ home, As a child, he was a beanpole but healthy not a fat***His phone was possibly lost in his running.Also he studders. Hey I am a taxpayer and use to be a citizen inYOUR city. The best thing I ever did was to get the he** out of there. You bunch of hypocrites! I will always love my nephew, how bout yours! He called me just before his disappearance and was making plan to move to my area, just like my 2 boys did! Casey come home! STOP THE HATRED REDNECKS!

OMG triumph! I'm so sorry to hear about your nephew! I hope everything turns out OK and he comes home. I can't imagine how your family is getting through this. Bless yall.

I want to know if the Democrat was going to run the story where is the picture. How can you do such a story and not include the picture. What sense does that make? You have got to do a better job.

I am not from Adams Co. and Concordia paarish but I know there are fliers out in that area.My heart cannot accept the bad yet.

@ triumph, I am an old classmate of Casey, I remember him very well, he alway kept me laughing at school. If that some how offended you then apologize, but I do hope he comes home or at least gets in contact with you or someone else.
(I got the heck out of that area as well, to many crabs in a bucket for me!!!)

Casey was in a bad way the last he was seen. Delerious and delusional is a good way to put it. There are a lot of uncertianties with this case. The main thing is that he is found. I found his picture on myspace. Put in Casey Herring and several came up. Just keep scrolling until you see from Ferriday,La. and there are four pictures. One shows his tatoo KCD on his stomach. And this is him. Please help and not hurt.They say he has been spotted in Natchez a couple of times but nothing for sure. If you see him just please call one of the numbers. Thank you.

I know that a reaction to a medication was listed. I was put on a relatively harmless medication, Reglan, several years ago. This medicine caused an extreme reaction. I was not at all myself, to say the least. My husband finally brought me into the e.r. after I was nearly catatonic. They narrowed it down to the medication. I had to wean off of it over a period of weeks (no matter what the medication is, many times you need a "weaning off period"). I am fine now with no lasting effects. Thankfully myself and my family (especially) could see signs that something was very wrong and we were able to have it corrected. I pray for this man and his family and hope that he is found alive and well.

Casey if your ok PLEASE come home or call us!I know when you get like you were, you feel like there is no where to run or no one to go to.But Casey you have people that care so much about you.I have been staying in touch with you mom and she is freaking out.You are such a good person and have done so much for me and my kids.Please come home!If anyone knows anything please call the numbers that are on the fliers or go report it to the police!We have done everything we can do and still haven't found nothing to lead us to him or anything!Gosh Casey I wish i would have known what state of mind you were in b/c i swear i wouldn't have let you out my site!!You have friends and family so hurt over this!I look out my windows at my house just praying you would just come walking out from anywhere.When iam driving somewhere or even riding with someone all I can do is look for you.I keep you and your family in my prayers and hope everything is ok Casey!We are worried to death.If anyone knows anything PLEASE SPEAK UP! OK.....Just a thought, They stated that when the ambulance arrived that he took off running, his mother said she don't know how he was running because of his ankle, ARE THEY SURE THAT IS WAS CASEY running or someone else......Could have been someone else there with him, Dont mean to sound like something bad has happened but think about it.....Maybe Casey called for help, because of someone there with him trying to harm him or did do something to him , there are a lot of unanswered questions here. I do not know this young man or his family but....My Prayers are with Casey and his Family, i do pray God brings him home safe....

Triumph.....No, I was just saying, if the EMT's seen ''SOMEONE'' running away from them and if they did not know Casey personally, then how do they know it was him. just sounds like someone else was with him or had been with him, If he was waiting for an ankle replacement, that could NOT have been him running. Doesn;t the hotel have camera's to see if someone was with him as he checked in, or if someone maybe had his ID and checked in as him, Sorry to sound so hopeless, but there are a lot of missing pieces here. SOMEONE out there knows what happened to him....The family needs to see videos from the hotel to see for sure if it was even Casey that checked in.. I am praying for his safe return...God bless all of you that are family and give you all the answers you all need.

If you will look @the post (Skeeter) , that is his dad! He suggested what to do if u can get to for photos or know anyone that can go to my space*and look for Ca$ey Herring from Ferriday or Vidalia. He looks just like my brother!

This is Casey's father. I am begging anyone who knows anything about my son please call me personally at 225-505-0946. The only good latest pictures of him are on myspace.com. Go to myspace.com and write in Casey Herring. There are many but I scrolled to the second page and found him under Casey Herring in Ferriday, La. then click pictures and there is four. I am really hurting not knowing anything. And for what ever reason I can't get any information from the investigator on his case. There are some calls from his cell phone after he ran that night but the officer will not give me any of this information. He says it could interfere with his investigation. This information could also possibly help me find him. What is wrong with this picture? Any call with be confidential and deeply appreciated. And the Democrat was supposed to be given a picture by his mother. I don't know what happened there either. Imagine someone you love dearly, they are missing and you can't get any help from anyone. It's a horrible feeling. I would die just to know he is alive and well. Thank You. Skeeter Yeager.
