Alcorn State University Interim President Norris Edney addresses an audience of students, faculty and staff at Wednesday’s convocation. Edney, who taught at Alcorn for 32 years, told those in attendance that respect for one another and a continued push for greatness are two keys to succeed as a university.

Jasmine Brown and Omarie Ellis pose with their baby daughter Jaydah on Sunday. Jaydah was born at 9:01 p.m. Saturday at Natchez Community Hospital, making her the first baby born in the Miss-Lou in 2010 .
